Jennifer Schmidt, CFNP

Jennifer Schmidt, CFNP joined our practice in 2014. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who brings a wealth of pediatric experience. Prior to joining our practice, Jennifer worked in a variety of settings including pediatric neurology, a pediatric clinic that served only uninsured or underserved patients, and a family medicine practice. While she enjoys all aspects of pediatric medicine, Jennifer is passionate about providing medical care to the uninsured population. 
 
Jennifer is the co-founder and Medical Director of the Espwa Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the healthcare of the children in the Cap Haitian area of Haiti. She manages a small medical clinic there and leads medical mission teams annually. 
 
Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1997, her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from George Mason University/in collaboration with The George Washington University in 2005. She is board certified with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the Virginia Counsel of Nurse Practitioners. She is licensed to practice medicine by the state of Virginia.
 
In her time outside of the office, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her son Anthony, exercising daily, and eating healthy, along with being an animal advocate.
